Washington Consumer Health Data notice

Washington's My Health My Data Act protects "consumer health data": information that identifies or could reasonably be linked to you and describes your past, present or future physical or mental health. That includes things like health conditions, sexual or reproductive health, and gender-affirming care. This notice explains how Heartchu handles it.

What we collect

Heartchu doesn't ask for health information. But you might choose to share it, for example by mentioning a health condition on your page, in a post, in a topic, or in a message, or the gender you choose could suggest information about gender-affirming care.

Where it comes from

Only from you, when you choose to post or send it.

Why we collect and use it

Only to provide what you asked for: showing it to the people you chose to share it with, and keeping it until you delete it. We also review it if it's reported, to keep people safe.

Who we share it with

The people you choose to share it with on Heartchu; our hosting provider (which stores it for us); and authorities, only when the law requires. We never sell consumer health data, and we don't share it with anyone else without your separate consent.

Your consent

By choosing to post or send it, you consent to Heartchu storing it and showing it to the people you shared it with. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting the content or your account.

Your rights

You can ask us to confirm whether we have your consumer health data, give you a copy of it, list the third parties we've shared it with, or delete it. Email [privacy email]. We'll answer within 45 days. If we refuse, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and if you're still not satisfied you can contact the Washington Attorney General at atg.wa.gov.
